The
Leading International
Orchestra Planning and
Administration Software
Regardless of the size of the organization or the scope of its
activities, orchestra management is an extremely complex business.
The administration and planning of all of the elements directly or
indirectly related to an orchestra require very special skills.
The complex nature of orchestra management is partially due to
the enormous amount of data required. Consider the number of
individuals involved (soloists, conductors, over one hundred
musicians and instruments), the variety of background information
needed (agencies, concert venues, repertoire, etc.), and the
necessity to plan years in advance. For this administrative work to
be efficiently managed, it is often necessary for several people,
who may be in different locations, to be able to access and process
the information they need in its most up-to-date form - and at a
moment’s notice.
With the close cooperation and assistance of Fine Arts Management
in the United States, Artifax Computer Software, Ltd. in the United
Kingdom, and the American Symphony Orchestra League, Wölbitsch
& Partner KG of Germany has developed OPAS, a data base system
specially tailored to the needs of orchestra management. No other
product available on the international market matches the
flexibility and power of OPAS to organize the various areas of your
operation.
ARTIFAX
Interface
OPAS shares an interface with Artifax Computer Software’s
Artifax EVENT.
Artifax EVENT is a flexible, comprehensive program designed to
make facility management quicker, easier and more efficient. It is
in use in over 100 concert halls throughout the US and Europe
including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Bass Hall (Performing Arts
Fort Worth), the Kravis Center, the Edinburgh Festival, Royal Albert
Hall, Wigmore Hall and many others.
OPAS
Library
OPAS Library offers the most comprehensive solution for your
orchestra’s library and repertoire needs. OPAS considerably
enhances the OLIS™ software written and distributed by the
American Symphony Orchestra League, and has been written with the
full cooperation and endorsement of the League as the next
generation of orchestra management software. OPAS was also written
with the cooperation of orchestra librarians currently using OLIS™.
OPAS tracks and consolidates virtually every aspect of the modern
Orchestral Library, giving you complete and reliable control over:
- Scheduling – Plan, schedule and track all of your
orchestra’s activities by a variety of criteria including
Project, Series, Activity, Conductor, Venue, etc.
- Contact Information – Organize Artists, Conductors,
Orchestra Personnel, Publishers, Venues, Agents, etc., into one
shared database that also includes a complete contact history.
- Repertoire – Store all complete repertoire
information including Instrumentation, Duration, Themes, Genres,
Styles, Premieres, Performance Rights, Performance Histories,
etc. OPAS also give you the ability to modify any work’s
attributes (e.g. instrumentation, timing), only as those
attributes pertain to a specific performance or rehearsal.
- Scores – Record all relevant information for Rental
and Perusal scores, and organize your Library including bowings,
markings, doublings, publisher information, etc.
- Archives – Each performance of each piece, and each
appearance by each soloist and/or conductor, is instantly
archived and easily cross-referenced for future referral
- Moreover, OPAS does this with a great deal of
flexibility. You can define the categories of virtually every
data type used, enabling you to organize information, activities
and repertoire attributes in a way that best suits your work.
